A workhorse designed for technical trails, the Speedgoat returns with less weight and more traction than ever before. A new shoe from outsole to laces, this trail beast is updated with Vibram® Megagrip with Traction Lug for enhanced grip on loose soil. Retaining the same stack height and rocker profile, the Speedgoat 5 employs a lighter midsole compound and heartier, double layer jacquard mesh to inspire confidence on any terrain.

I've been running in Salomon for years, but decided to try the Speedgoat 5 Wide for some ultra training. The protection underfoot is excellent for rocky terrain. I don't feel every stone anymore. They run true to size in the wide version. Highly recommend if you have wider feet or need extra comfort on long days.

Sizing felt off. Ordered my usual size but they were too tight in the toe box despite being 'wide'. Had to return them. Maybe just a bad pair?

Good shoes, but the sizing runs a tad small even in wide. Had to size up. Once I got the right fit, they were great for my morning jog.

They are comfortable and the wide fit is nice, but I found them a bit heavier than I expected for speed work. Good for longer, slower efforts on technical trails, but if you want something light and fast, maybe look elsewhere. Durability seems good so far after a few weeks of use.
